Some thoughts after the jump
Welp. Its that time of the year again....March Madness (and not the basketblawl kind). The Penguins are doing what nobody thought they could do a few short months ago....catch up to the Rags. The Pens are 9-1-0 in their last 10, while the Rags have only gone 5-3-2. Both teams have 14 games left to play, and two of those games are head to head match ups, the first of which is Thursday at MSG. Oh and apparently the Penguins are getting some guy back? Not sure whats up with all that noise.
4 points is nothing. The Penguins can move within 2 points with a win on Thursday. A regulation win would be huge. The second of the two games is on April 5, the second to last game of the season. Needless to say, these two, along with the other 7 Divisional games the Pens have left are vital if they want to take the top spot in the east. Taking the number 1 spot would also lead a much easier first round match-up, most likely against the Crapitals.
The Penguins are the hottest team in the NHL right now, and that's without their best player, and arguably their best defenceman. And as looks right now, they could be getting them both back Thursday night.
The Rangers aren't even that good. If the Penguins ever take the conference lead, there's no chance the Rangers get it back.
